THE MCA ICT Resource Centre (MIRC) will hold the Penang ICT Week 2007 from Dec 13 to 18 at a few venues in Penang. The event, which is expected to attract more than 1,100 SMEs and ICT participants, was launched by state Public Works, Utilities and Transportation Committee chairman Datuk Koay Kar Huah at the Starbucks outlet at e-Gate recently. In its third consecutive year, the Penang ICT Week will showcase the latest in technology, adoption and IT applications which can be used by small-medium businesses for them to further promote and market their products, services, regionally and beyond. It will feature a combination of trainings, workshops, conferences and summits, including an MIRC ICT seminar in Mandarin, MIRC e-Marketing Conference. There will also be fun activities such as an ICT Treasure Hunt and networking night with an Arabian night theme. Among those present at the launching were MIRC chief executive officer Andrew Wong and its northern region representative John Goh.
